Two teenage girls are safe after police say they were held against their will in a home along Hawkstone Drive Northwest and sexually assaulted by a group of men.

Around 7:30 Saturday morning, one of the girls was able to escape and ran to a neighbouring home for help.

Terry Serge answered the door. “She said a guy was raping her and then he was raping her friend but she got away. We phoned the cops and there were 15 cop cars within seconds.”

Neighbours looked on from their homes. “There was an ambulance out front of our house,” says Tim Stanford.  “I saw two guys with the dogs and then some officers walking around the house. One officer had a shotgun and was walking up the alley.”

Residents say it wasn’t a problem home but it could be loud.

“They were always having parties and people coming and going all the time,” says Serge.

The two girls were taken to Foothills Hospital with serious injuries and emotional trauma.

Police arrested three men from the home and took them to police headquarters.

Charges are pending.
