Police in Airdrie are hoping the public will be able to help them identify a suspect in a violent assault that took place last month.

At about 4:15 p.m. on June 27, a man was involved in an argument with another man who he didn’t know.

The man attempted to away from the scene via Big Hill Road, but the other man, who was wielding a pipe, hopped over a fence and ran into the road, blocking his way.

He then smashed the window of the man’s vehicle, and then hit him in the face with the pipe.

The suspect fled the scene, with a third man recovering the pipe before leaving.

The victim sustained undisclosed injuries.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • Long black hair
  • 5’9”
  • 160 lbs
  • Moustache/goatee
  • Black t-shirt and shorts
  • Chain on wallet
