Another vehicle stolen while left idling

The owner of a vehicle left idling made a dramatic attempt to stop a thief from taking it.

Police say a maroon-coloured Ford F-150 was left running with the keys inside while the owner when into a store on Edmonton Trail near 9^th Avenue N.E. on Tuesday afternoon.

The driver noticed someone inside his truck so he came out of the store just in time to see it start to pull away. He tried to stop the vehicle by grabbing onto the side mirror but was unable to stop the theft.

A short time later, someone reported to police that a maroon truck was driving erratically with blown-out tires, but police could not confirm if the two incidents were related.
