Fire crews were called out to deal with several small fires and one larger blaze that burned down a garage in Bridgeland on Monday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a garage fire in the 700 block of McDougall Rd. N.E. at about 6:45 a.m.

The fire was fully involved when crews arrived with heavy smoke and flames.

"Any time we have somebody intentionaly lighting fires, there's always that risk that somebody's gonna get hurt or worse, a civilian or firefighter. So very much a concern to us," said CFD Battalion Chief Larry Fisher.

A second and third alarm was called in and crews knocked down the fire quickly.

Crews also doused fires in several garbage dumpsters in the same area throughout the night.

"Throughout the night, there had been several fires in this area. Crews were on at least four that I know of," said Fisher.

No one was injured in the fires and investigators are treating the fires as suspicious.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
