A late morning gas line rupture at a construction site in the 500 block of Riverfront Ave. S.E. has been sealed.

According to CFD officials, a six inch gas line was struck by a backhoe in a construction zone shortly after 11:00 a.m.

Approximately 400 construction workers were evaucated from various construction sites in the area . The incident delayed CTrain travel on the Somerset-Bridlewood/Tuscany and Saddletowne/69th Street lines.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., ATCO workers successfully clamped the line.

CTrain service has been restored.

No injuries have been reported.
