The Calgary Police Service is investigating a grisly Thursday morning find in the Bow River.

According to police, emergency crews responded to a location near the pedestrian bridge connecting St. Patrick’s Island with the Bow River pathway in the East Village at approximately 8:30.

Police have not released the identity of the deceased but confirm it was an adult pulled from the river.

The Office of the Medical Examiner is scheduled to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
