A suspected bomb that shut down the Canada Post depot in the northeast and created a traffic tangle turned out to be a cell phone.

Officers had to set up a perimeter around the building along 12 Street north of McKnight Blvd and along 59 Ave. and 11 Street.

Police say the call came in just before 10 a.m.

The tactical team was on scene and examined the package in question.

They say the package was left inside a vehicle and an employee was alerted to it when it started making noise.

A bomb expert examining the package found out that it was harmless.
