Ty Pozzobon’s bull riding safety gear was stolen from his vehicle and he is offering a reward for the return of the expensive equipment.

You probably don’t even notice the gear bull riders are wearing when they do their terrifying rides, but the specialized gear is critical for keeping the riders safe, and it’s pricey stuff.

“My chaps’ll be right about $1500, $2000, my vest is $600, my helmet’s $500, the most important thing in my bag are my knee braces,” he said. “Mine were custom for me, and those were right about $1000 a piece.”

Even the rope he uses costs $200 to $400. The bag with his gear inside was stolen after the vehicle it was in was broken into outside a downtown Calgary restaurant during the Stampede. Even the bag itself is unique.

“It says PBR World Finals, you know, 2014,” he said. “It has a leather piece that hangs off it that says Pozzobon on it.”

His gear also has the logo of his sponsor, Jack Daniels.

Pozzobon is heading to Salinas for the California Rodeo this week and will be using borrowed gear. In the meantime, he is offering a $3000 reward for the return of the items, no questions asked.

If you know anything about the missing gear, contact Pozzobon on his Facebook page.
