Outdoor enthusiasts lined up early on Thursday to get in on the grand opening deals at Cabela’s newest store at Deerfoot Mall.
The store, at 851 - 64th Avenue NE, is the third in the province for the American based outdoor outfitter.
“Calgary is a great location for outdoor enthusiasts and Cabela’s,” said Sasha Milovic, the store’s general manager. “We’re thrilled to introduce Cabela’s unique experience and legendary customer service to Calgary and begin serving the area’s outdoor needs. We hope to see large crowds throughout the celebration of grand opening weekend.”
“We throw one heck of a party when we do a grand opening like this, I mean, we do giveaways, we’ve got hand-outs, we’ve got all kinds of great stuff. We’re going to have music, we’ve got some really special guests today, so it’s going to be great,” said Noel Linsey, Retail Marketing Manager at Cabela’s.
“Cabela’s is a good company and I’ve shopped with them online and everything and now that they’re in Calgary, I might as well come take advantage of the new location,” said customer Mackenzie Gregg, who lined up on Wednesday night to get in on some of the deals.
The 70,000-square-foot store caters to outdoor enthusiasts and offers a huge selection of hunting, fishing and camping supplies, boats and ATVS.
Cabela’s now has nine stores in Canada and has plans to open three more soon.
