A 28-year-old Calgary man faces charges in connection with reports a woman and two minors were inappropriately touched on Saturday in the pool of a Lethbridge hotel and police believe there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward.

Members of the Lethbridge Police Service responded to the Holiday Inn in the 2300 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South on Saturday after receiving complaints a woman and two girls had been groped.

Police located the suspect within the hotel and arrested the man without incident.

Wijdan Yasir, a 28-year-old man from Calgary, has been charged with:

  • Sexual assault (three counts)
  • Sexual interference with a minor (two counts)

Yasir has been released from custody on $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on April 29, 2016.

Investigators suspect there could be other victims or witnesses to the inappropriate touching within the hotel’s pool. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lethbridge Police Service at 403-327-2210.
