People all across the city had a welcome treat on Monday – a white Thanksgiving.

Lots of people were out enjoying the early snow all around the city, whether it was walking the dogs or enjoying some sledding out in the local parks.

Families were out in force at St. Andrew’s Park, having a lot of fun on the hills there, working up their appetites for a sumptuous meal.

“We plan on having another turkey dinner,” said Tara Guthrie. “Which means we have to have enough exercise to be able to have another one guilt-free.”

As for conditions on the roads, many of the routes around Calgary suffered through blowing snow, but once crews got the pickle mixture down, the roadways became mostly wet and easier to travel.

There were only a handful of minor traffic incidents, but one incident on Deerfoot Trail did cause a backup for drivers.

A tractor trailer rolled into the ditch, and traffic was slow from Memorial Drive all the way to Peigan Trail.

No one was hurt in the crash.
