Service Alberta says they have charged a Calgary man in connection with several investigations for fraud, theft, and operating without a proper licence.

Howard Bursey, the owner of Lock-Out Security Inc., is facing 16 charges under the Fair Trading Act and the Criminal Code of Canada.

Officials say that since 2011, Bursey has been the subject of several investigations. The latest involve allegations that he accepted deposits for work without possessing a proper licence and did little or no work after the pre-payment was received.

Bursey has already been fined $3,500 and ordered to return $5,632 to his victims in connection with charges under the Fair Trading Act.

Service Alberta investigators would like to speak with anyone who believes they may have paid Bursey for work that was not completed. They can call Service Alberta at 403-297-5712 or file a complaint online using the Online Consumer Complaints Form on the Service Alberta website.
