Members of a Calgary family are in hospital in British Columbia, some with life-threatening injuries, after an early morning crash on the Trans-Canada Highway near Blind Bay.

According to Salmon Arm RCMP, a husband, wife, and their three children aged 16, 14 and 8, were traveling along the highway at approximately 5:30 a.m., Saturday morning, when the incident occurred.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

An investigation is underway and RCMP are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact their local detachment immediately.     

Blind Bay is approximately 25 kilometres north of Salmon Arm, on the banks of the Shuswap Lake.
