A 32-year-old man has admitted to killing an innocent bystander caught in a gang war on New Year’s Day 2009.

Real Honorio pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting death of Keni Su'a and in exchange, two first-degree murder charges will be dropped.

Su'a was one of three people shot at the Bolsa Vietnamese Restaurant on January 1, 2009.

Gangster Sanjeev Mann and his associate Aaron Bendle were also killed.

In 2012, Honorio was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of second-degree murder but a new trial was ordered by the court of appeal because of the credibility of a key crown witness.

Honorio was supposed to go to trial for three counts of first-degree murder in January along with two other men accused in the triple murder, Nick Chan and Dustin Darby.

Honorio will be sentenced in the new year.
