Police have arrested and charged a 22-year-old man following a crime spree in the community of Lincoln Park.
On Tuesday, December 18, a witness observed a man looking into the windows of homes in the neighbourhood. A short time later, the same man was seen carrying a laptop computer.
The witness confronted the man and the suspect fled on foot. The witness chased the thief and was joined in his pursuit by an off-duty police officer.
The officer and the witness apprehended the suspect and handed the suspect over to police custody.
22-year-old Cory Joseph Vieira faces three counts of break and enter and one count of resisting arrest.
Viera has been connected to three break-ins in Lincoln Park. Since early November, there have been eight reported break-ins and numerous vehicle prowlings in the community.
Police continue to investigate the unsolved break-ins.
