The Transportation Safety Board has been called in to investigate a helicopter crash in Saskatchewan that killed a 48-year-old Calgary man on Tuesday night.

Emergency crews were called to an open field, about 1 km southeast of Kinley, at 7:45 p.m. for reports of a downed aircraft.

The male pilot was flying from Calgary to Saskatoon when the helicopter went down and he was found dead at the scene.

Police say the cause of the crash is under investigation and the TSB will be taking the lead role in the investigation.

It is the second time a helicopter has gone down in the province in less than a week.
