Calgary police have charged a third suspect in connection with the beating death of a man back in May of this year.

At about 9:15 p.m. on May 15, police were called to a scene in the 5500 block of Maddock Drive N.E.

They found a man in his 20s suffering from serious injuries.

The victim was rushed to hospital but he later succumbed to his injuries.

He has been identified as Tyler Sanderson.

Police say that the victim met with a woman and at least two other men in relation to drug activity earlier that evening in the area of Memorial Drive and 52 Street N.E.

An altercation took place during the meeting, resulting in Sanderson’s injuries.

Investigators believe that Sanderson attempted to get home after the incident and collapsed on the front lawn where he was found by family members.

Police have already arrested Lori Ann Heavenfire, 34, and Dylan Irvin George Calf, 24, in connection with Sanderson’s death.

Investigators have now laid a second degree murder charge against Justin Cecil Scott, 31, of Calgary.

Scott was charged on Friday and will next appear in court on October 11.
