A 70-year-old Calgary woman is facing charges in the death of a pedestrian on a Hawkwood street earlier this year.
Emergency crews were called to the 0-100 block of Hawkwood Drive N.W. on July 28 at about 10:00 a.m.after a pedestrian was hit by an SUV that was backing out of a driveway.
Adrien Gottli, 56, was walking her dog when she was hit by a Honda CRV.
She was transported to hospital in life threatening condition and later died from her injuries.
Sharon Lynne Shwed, 70, of Calgary is charged with one count each of careless driving and unsafe backing.
Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
