Family and friends will gather to remember a Calgary couple who went missing from their southwest home along with their grandson back in June.

Kathy and Alvin Liknes and five-year-old Nathan O’Brien were reported missing from the couple’s Parkhill home by family on June 30.

The trio has never been found and police say all three were murdered.

In an obituary, Alvin is being remembered as an intelligent, sensitive and adventurous man, while Kathy is described as a woman totally devoted to her family and someone who accepted everyone.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, September 27, at 10:00 a.m. at First Alliance Church, 12345 – 40 Street S.E.
