A 21-year-old man is facing numerous charges in connection to a home invasion robbery at a residence in Black Diamond on Wednesday.

Police say a man entered a home in the community, southwest of Calgary, and pointed a firearm at the homeowner and demanded money.

Tanner Dallas Russell, 21, was arrested and charged with:

  • Break & Enter, commit
  • Assault with Intent to steal
  • Disguise with intent to commit
  • Use of a firearm to commit
  • Point a firearm
  • Carry a firearm in the commission of an offence
  • Possess a restricted firearms in an unauthorized place
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm

RCMP in Turner Valley say the home was targeted and that the public is not at risk.

Russell is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in Calgary Provincial Court on Friday.
