The RCMP has now arrested an armed and dangerous suspect wanted in connection with a home invasion that took place west of Calgary.

Jarred Ivan Genaille, 22, was arrested on Sunday morning by Chestermere RCMP.

Police, who were responding to a call of a suspicious person breaking into vehicles, located the male suspect and arrested him.

A warrant was issued for Genaille’s arrest last week in connection with a home invasion in Exshaw on October 20.

Police say that he broke into a home in the community at about 10:45 a.m. and threatened the homeowner with an edged weapon.

The victim was not injured in the incident.

Genaille has been remanded into custody and is set to appear in Canmore Provincial Court on November 2.
