Two children and an adult were killed in a crash on a rural highway on the weekend and police say road conditions were a factor in the fatal crash.
Rimbey RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 20 near Township Road 420 on Sunday at about 1:00 p.m. and say a northbound vehicle crossed the centre line and crashed into an oncoming SUV.
The driver of the northbound vehicle died at the scene.
A family of five was in the southbound SUV and one child from the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second child, a three-year-old boy, was taken to Alberta Children’s Hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries on Monday.
Police say an investigation has determined that road conditions were a factor in the fatal collision.
The names of those involved have not been released.
