The Calgary City Council is looking at making some changes to the city’s controversial snow route parking ban.

When a snow route parking ban was called on Friday to make room for snow plows by 6 a.m., many people didn’t get the message.

900 people landed with tickets for not moving their vehicles in time.

Now, city officials are saying that the 6 a.m. deadline for route bans is too early and they’re considering moving it to 7 or 8 o’clock in the morning.

They believe that by moving the deadline to a later time, motorists will have more time to get up and move their vehicles before tickets are handed out.

Tickets range in cost from $40 to $75 and vehicles can even be towed as a result.

Parking bans came into effect in 2011.
