WINNIPEG - A Manitoba man has been arrested on charges of Internet luring involving a teenage boy from the Cochrane area in southern Alberta.

Winnipeg police allege a 53-year-old man posed as a 13-year-old girl online, and coerced the teenage boy into providing sexual videos.

Det. Sgt. Natalie Aitken says police searched a home, seized electronic equipment and contacted authorities in Alberta.

She says the accused has been released on a promise to appear in court and faces charges of possessing child pornography and luring a minor.

She says the Winnipeg man and the alleged victim never met in person.

Aitken says the case is a reminder that Internet luring can happen anywhere, and that parents need to be mindful of what their children are doing online.
