Eric Donovan's wife is speaking out, thanking her community for the support its offered in this time of tragedy.

Bobby Joe Donovan's husband and oldest son were killed in a weekend plane crash in Saskatchewan.

On Wednesday, a dozen friends and relatives showed up to tend to the Donovan's fields as a gesture of support.

Eric Donovan, 11-year-old Wade Donovan and pilot Denny Loree set off to Saskatchewan on Saturday to pickup a part for Eric's air drill.

Wednesday morning, friends fired up that drill and seeded the fields.

Eric's three surviving children went for a ride in the family tractor; a tractor they had sat in with their dad so many times.

An emotional Bobby Joe thanked her community for the help

"I just want to thank all our family and all our friends who are our family as well in this tragic time," says Bobby Joe Donovan. "We will miss Eric and Wade deeply."

Ben Loree, nephew of Denny Loree, was among the group helping on the Donovan's farm. He says it's what his uncle would have done, and what he would have wanted.

Denny Loree's funeral will be held Thursday at the Lancaster museum in Nanton.

Eric and Wade's funeral is scheduled for the Lynnwood ranch in Aldersyde on Friday.
