Calgary’s restaurant community is coming together to warn each other about a possible scam.
A video on social media is spreading the message.
Teatro restaurant posted a video on its Facebook page. It shows a woman coming into the restaurant and trying to get a gift certificate.
She claims she sent “clients” there and that they received bad service.
Teatro already had a heads up from another restaurant so it refused, but Karen Kho, the service manager at Teatro says she was convincing, “she was quite articulate about it”.
Several other downtown restaurants have also been contacted by the woman and at least one gave her a 100-dollar gift certificate.
Calgary police officers are investigating.
