A big blast of winter kept emergency crews busy on Monday as they responded to dozens of crashes and collisions around the city.

Police responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle pileup on the westbound off-ramp from Deerfoot Trail to Stoney Trail.

That crash, involving as many as 11 vehicles, happened at about 2:00 p.m. and affected traffic flow on southbound Deerfoot Trail for a time.

Traffic was slowed on 14 St. N.W. at approximately 3:00 p.m. after a watermain break prompted the closure of one northbound and one southbound lane between 2 Ave. N.W. and Kensington Rd.

Police say that there were two injury and 25 non-injury crashes reported between midnight and 10 a.m. on Monday.
