A suspicious death in the city's northwest has now been classified a homicide.
Police were called to a home in the 1100 block of 18 Ave. N.W. around 11:45 a.m. on January 4.
A middle-aged man was found dead.
Police aren't releasing the results of an autopsy, but say the man was murdered
The victim has been identified as Joel Zalsos, 36, of Calgary.
The victim's wife left the house early that morning.
She was a nanny and was next door looking after the kids. When she came home she found her husband dead.
Zalsos recently moved to Canada from the Philippines, joining his wife here just a month ago.
