Calgarians will get a chance to view and provide feedback on the draft design concepts that have been created for the West Eau Claire Park at an open house next week.

The park runs along the Eau Claire Promenade from the Louise Bridge (10th Street SW) to Eau Claire Plaza and has seen a lot of change over the last five years.

The city held meetings and a walking tour earlier this year so residents and park users could give their input on the project. Over 1600 ideas and suggestions were submitted.

“We received very thought-out ideas in the first engagement which tells us people are passionate about this park space and that’s excellent,” said Greg Stewart, project manager with the City of Calgary. “At this stage, the input we receive will be used to revise our strategy and concept designs to ensure we are using as much public input as we can, based on the budget and capabilities available for the space.”

Now that the first round of engagement is complete, the city is hosting an information session to give the public a peek at the draft design concepts.

An open house will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at Eau Claire Market, Centre Court, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
