An early morning rollover on the west edge of the city sent two people to hospital, including the driver who faces a charge related to impaired driving.

Shortly after 4:00 a.m., members of the Calgary Police Service responded to a location along Highway 8 near the 69 St. S.W. intersection following reports of a rollover. Officers located an overturned GMC Envoy containing two adults. The driver of the vehicle was trapped in the wreckage.

Calgary Fire Department successfully extricated the driver.

EMS crews transported the vehicle’s occupants to hospital in non-life threatening condition.

Police have charged the unidentified motorist in connection to impaired driving.
