A woman, believed to be in her mid-forties, was transported by ambulance to the Foothills Medical Centre following a Saturday morning rollover on the QEII highway.

According to EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux, an EMS crew responded to the northbound lanes of the highway at a location near the Crossfield overpass following witness reports of a vehicle flipping at least three times.

The EMS crew located the vehicle and additional resources were deployed to the scene to extricate the driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle, from the wreckage. The make and model of the vehicle have not been confirmed.

Once the woman escaped from the vehicle, EMS members transported her to the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary in serious, but stable condition. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Traffic on the highway was not impacted by the single vehicle crash.

RCMP members have launched an investigation into the rollover.
