Police have decided not to press charges against the driver of a vehicle involved in an altercation on a Saddle Ridge street that left one man dead.

Emergency crews were called to the 100 block of Saddlecrest Green N.E. at about 11:00 p.m. Saturday for reports that a man had been hit by a vehicle.

Police believe the man threw himself onto the hood of the vehicle  to try and stop the driver from leaving.

It was later determined that the man fell off the hood of the vehicle and hit his head on the paevement.

He suffered critical injuries and died in hospital overnight.

Police say the driver and deceased are known to each other and that drugs and alcohol were not believed to be factors in the incident.

They say the driver did not cause the collision so no charges will be laid.
