The Anaheim Ducks showed they were far from rusty in Game One against the Flames at the Honda Center on Thursday night, defeating them 6-1 to take the first game of the series.

The Flames had lost 20 consecutive games in Anaheim going into the series opener and the Ducks' domination continued from start to finish in game one.

The Ducks opened up the scoring with a goal from Matt Beleskey, from Palmieri and Lindholm at 10:17 of the first and it was 1-0.

Their big line did the work on the second goal, Patrick Maroon put it past Hiller, with Getzlaf and Perry assisting, at 13:11 and it was 2-0 after 20 minutes.

The Flames offence suffered in the second, Michael Ferland did not return to the bench to start the period and Jiri Hudler also went to the dressing room during play.

Anaheim pulled further ahead just over two minutes in when Perry walked in from the corner and made it 3-0.

The Flames then pulled Hiller and put in Karri Ramo.

The Ducks kept the pressure on and crowded the net for goal number four from Emerson Etem on assists from Beauchemin and Lindholm at 10:11.

The Flames fate appeared to be sealed going into the third and the onslaught from the Ducks continued.

Perry scored again 44 seconds in to make it 5-0, and then Getzlaf notched it up one more, less than two minutes later, 6-0.

The Flames finally get a goal at the nine minute mark from Sam Bennett, who took away Andersen's shutout.

The Ducks defeated the Flames 6-1 and Getzlaf and Perry each walked away with four points on the night.

The two teams face off again for Game Two in Anaheim on Sunday night.

In the 2006 playoffs, the Ducks won two of three games at home and won the seven-game series.
