Friends and family of an 18-year-old man are canvassing the northeast neighbourhood of Abbeydale in the hope of locating Colton James Crowshoe who has been missing for nine days.

Colton was last seen on the evening of July 3 when he departed a friend’s house and started the three block walk to his home. The teenager did not arrive at his destination.

Lillian Crowshoe, Colton’s aunt, says the disappearance has been reported to police but the family was disheartened by the reaction they received.

“They said he’s eighteen and he may not want to be found,” said Lillian. “That’s not his character to be like that at all. He’s very close to his father and his siblings and the rest of the family. He wouldn’t just disappear without letting anybody know his whereabouts. He’s call somebody.”

A group of Colton’s friends and family are posting missing person posters in Abbeydale and have turned to social media looking for information on the teenager’s whereabouts.

Colton is described as:

  • Approximately 180 cm (5’11") tall
  • Weighing 73 kg (160 lbs)
  • Having a slim build
  • Black hair cut short
  • Brown eyes

According to police, there are no signs of foul play connected to Colton's disappearance.

Anyone with information about Colton’s current whereabouts is asked to contact the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234.
