An investigation into Monday’s fatal early morning fire in the southern Alberta community of Vulcan has determined the blaze was deliberately sparked and RCMP believe the arsonist was among the deceased.
RCMP have determined 47-year-old Robert Farrow and 56-year-old Karen Currie were inside the home at the time of the fire and neither Farrow nor Currie survived the incident. Officers believe the person who sparked the fire died inside the home and the search for additional suspects has ceased.
RCMP have not identified a motive and have not released the name of the suspected arsonist.
