A Calgary father charged with manslaughter in the death of his two-month-old son changed his plea to guilty on Monday.

Bryson Dorey-Fox was taken to Alberta’s Children’s Hospital in August 2009 and died two days later.

The baby’s father, Jamie Dorey, was the only person home at the time of the incident and was charged with manslaughter.

In a 2009 interview with police, Dorey acted out what happened that day and claimed that the family dog must have knocked the baby off of the couch.

In an agreed statement of facts, Dorey admits that the baby's head struck a sharp corner of an object in the home.

He claims that he has no memory of the three hours between when the baby was hurt and when his common-law wife returned home and rushed their son to hospital.

Dorey pleaded guilty to the manslaughter charge in a Calgary courtroom on Monday and was released.

He will undergo a risk assessment before he is sentenced.

The case returns for sentencing submissions on January 10th.
