Calgary fire crews remained on scene of a fire in a duplex in the southwest for several hours on Monday night.

The blaze broke out at just after 5 p.m. in a single story duplex in the 1500 block of 33 Ave. S.W.

Crews managed to contain the fire to one of the units.

A man and a woman escaped safely.

Firefighters continue to keep an eye out for hot spots.

The investigation continues in the cause of the blaze.
