Emergency crews were called to a gas leak in the northwest community of Hillhurst on Tuesday.
Crews were called to the scene near 3 Avenue and 10 Street N.W. at about 12:10 p.m.
Fire officials say a gas line was damaged due to construction.
Pedestrians were moved out of the area and about 100 people were evacuated as a precaution.
ATCO crews were called in to shut off the gas and traffic was temporarily rerouted around the area.
No one was injured in the incident and people were allowed back into the area just after 1:00 p.m. once firefighters gave the all clear.
