The Calgary Fire Department is investigating a series of suspicious fires that broke out early Wednesday morning in Ogden.

Between 4 and 5:30 a.m., crews were called to extinguish two small grass fires in the 7200 block of 22 Street S.E., as well as a stack of wooden pallets on fire next to a garage on Ogden Road S.E.

Investigators say all three fires are suspicious in nature.

They are now keeping an eye out for suspects.

The CFD is reminding residents to be very careful with open fires and dispose of cigarettes and other smoldering material properly.

This is because of extremely dry conditions.

Fire bans have also been called in some communities around Calgary.
