The efforts of the Calgary Fire Department are being heralded for preventing a Sunday morning from spreading throughout a northeast home.

At approximately 7:00 a.m., fire crews responded to a home in the 100 block of Laguna Close Northeast following reports of smoke billowing from the front of the residence.

Firefighters launched an aggressive attack and successfully extinguished the blaze. Crews remained on scene to ensure hotspots did not reignite.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
