Two firefighters were hurt while on their way to rescue several people from the Bow River Thursday night.

Crews were called to the Louise Bridge just before 6 p.m.

Several rafts that were tied together had flipped in the rapids and the rafters were thrown into the water.

Some of the rafters were not wearing life jackets.

Two of the firefighters rushing to the call were hurt when their rescue vehicle hit a bridge.

Both were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

All of the rafters were rescued from the water.
