Former Calgary Stampeder Joffrey Reynolds has been charged in relation to an assault and break and enter over the weekend.

Police were called to an apartment in Eau Claire around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday after a woman returned to her residence and found that a man had broken in.

The man allegedly confronted and physically assaulted the woman. She was able to flee the home and call police.

Police arrested the man who was still in the residence when they arrived.

Joffrey Reynolds, 32, is charged with one count each of break and enter and assault causing bodily harm.

Reynolds spent eight seasons with the Stamps but was released from the team in the off season.
