A huge gun mount was on the move on Friday morning as crews transported it to the Military Museums.

The 34 tonne naval gun mount is being restored by the Naval Museum of Alberta Society.

The huge artifact was carefully moved from the museum's workshop at the HMCS Tecumseh Navy Base on 18th Ave. S.W. to the Military Museums at 4520 Crowchild Trail S.W.

When it was in service, it was one of the largest guns ever mounted on Royal Canadian Navy ships.

The society hopes to complete the restoration work by early fall.
