A man who showed up at the Sheldon Chumir Health Centre after an assault in the Beltline has died from his injuries and the Homicide Unit has been called in to investigate.
Police were called to the 200 block of 15 Avenue S.W. at about 1:00 a.m. on April 18 for an altercation among a group of people. The individuals were uncooperative with police and refused to provide statements.
About an hour later, police were called to the Shedon Chumir Centre after a man walked in with stab wounds.
Hebern Donald Marsden, 49, remained in hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries on Friday, July 1, 2016.
Police say they believe it was a targeted incident and the Homicide Unit is investigating.
