Calgary lacrosse coach Kelly Feser has been found guilty of sexually assaulting of a teenager.

The 48-year-old is accused of having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl that ran from 2007 to 2011 and started when she was 13-years-old.

Feser’s lawyer had stated that the alleged victim’s testimony was unreliable and lacked details, but the judge decided he believed the accuser when she said that sexual contact had happened "a lot".

The judge also stated that some inconsistencies can be attributed to the young girl being embarrased and feeling shameful and found that Feser had groomed her for sexual contact.

When the judge read out his ruling, Feser burst into tears in the courtroom.

The Crown says the girl and her family have been through a lot.

“I think relieved, I think it’s a tough process for everyone involved,” said Kirsti Binns, Crown Prosecutor.

Sentencing will take place on October 6th, 2016.
