The Lethbridge Regional Police Service has released two homicide suspects from custody without charges as the investigation into a fatal Monday night assault continues.

On the evening of August 31, 2015, emergency crews responded to an alleyway in the 900 block of 17 Street South following reports of an assault.

An unconscious and beaten 47-year-old man, identified as Glifford George Good Dagger, was located and transported to hospital. Good Dagger suffered severe head and internal injuries and he passed away in hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Police identified two persons of interest in connection to the assault and evidence suggests the attack was targeted. Following preliminary questioning, the persons of interest, who are now considered suspects, have been released from police custody.

The LRPS has not released the names of the suspects as they have not been charged.
