A 23-year-old man was shot in the stomach early Sunday morning outside a bar in a strip mall in Lethbridge.
About 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot outside of Pop’s Taphouse and Grill West on 132 Columbia Boulevard a fight started between one man and a group of people.
The man, who is from Lethbridge, was shot and taken to hospital. He was treated and released. No one else was hurt.
Lethbridge police are investigating and say this appears to be a random act. The victim didn’t know who he was fighting.
Staff Sgt. Ian Sanderson says "any time firearms are being discharged with the wanton and reckless disregard like this, all persons should be concerned."
So far there are no charges.
