A Lethbridge home that was allegedly involved in the drug trade has been shut down by ALERT and a number of people are now facing charges.

Police executed a search warrant at a residence on Meadowlark Boulevard on November 17 and say the home was allegedly being used to sell drugs.

A number of items were seized from the home including:

  • 243 grams of crack cocaine
  • 4 Percocet pills
  • $6,323 cash proceeds of crime
  • Evidence consistent with drug trafficking

Police say the investigation was fast-tracked because of the proximity of the house to a nearby elementary school.

The following people were arrested at the Meadowlark home and are now charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

  • Abdual Kadir Salad, 20, of Calgary
  • Mohamed Yusuf Isse, 26, of Ottawa
  • Abdulghani Kalif Youse, 23, of Toronto
  • Wayne Brown, 25, of Lethbridge

A second home in the 1300 block of 7 Street was also searched and police found 12 grams of cocaine inside.

A 22-year-old woman was arrested at the home and a two-year-old child was also found inside.

The woman has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and charges under the drug-endangered children’s act and is not being named to protect the identity of the child.

Police are asking members of the public who suspect drug or gang activity in their community to call them or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
