Lethbridge police have charged a school bus driver following an injury collision.

The school bus and SUV collided Wednesday afternoon just after 3 o’clock.

Lethbridge police say the school bus, with children on board, was travelling northbound on 23 Street North when it swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle trying to make a left hand turn.

As a result, police say the bus crossed the centre line, entered the southbound lanes and collided head on with an SUV.

The 67 year old driver of the SUV was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The children on the bus and the driver were not hurt.

Police have charged 64 year old Ken Kissick of Lethbridge with driving left of the centre line.
