The second victim in an early Saturday morning crash has succumbed to his injuries. The 24-year-old Calgary man died on Sunday.

He was predeceased by an unidentified woman who was pronounced  dead at the scene of the crash.

The collision occurred at the intersection of 90 Ave. and Macleod Trail S.E at approximately 1:00 a.m.

According to police, a northbound black Volkswagen Jetta entered the intersection and collided with the two pedestrians crossing the road.

The intersection was shut down for about four hours as police and traffic investigated.

Police believe speed may have been a factor in the collision. 

The identities of the victims have not been released.
